Hoadley a standout in world and national competitive men’s softball

HOLDEN, Mass. – Perhaps few could see the signals as to what was to come when traded to another team by his brother in a 1996 recreational league. After all, when you’re own sibling jettisons you to parts unknown in a rather unceremonious nature, it could be just a slight bit daunting.

For Holden’s Mike Hoadley, it was not a setback of his goal to play elite competitive men’s softball as it might have been to others. To Hoadley, seizing opportunities and running with them are what it’s all about.

Since then it’s been a list of national and international accomplishments that jump off the page. Hoadley has been a five-time national champion, competed in over 20 national championship tournaments, seven Fast Pitch World Championship Tournaments and was a NAFA All-World Player and All-American multiple times.

In addition, he has been a two-time winner of US Cup Championships and a member of the Team USA program, and the “journey” as he calls all this, is far from over

“Twenty years ago I started in a local league with my brother just like anyone else and one day I woke up, looked around and I was surrounded by the most elite softball players the world had to offer,” he said. “Now I can say that I’ve competed around the world and nationally and played with and against players from Australia, New Zealand, Japan, Canada, Dominican Republic, Guatemala, Puerto Rico, Bahamas, Argentina and Venezuela. It’s been incredible.”
