Thanks Bob, I figured you were basing it off of the NAFA bracket. I just wanted to make sure that Exit Diamond got credit for their win. I can put you in touch with Bob Lanoie, just send me an email and I can forward his contact info to you.

I went by the NAFA bracket because I couldn't cover all the championship games being played simultaneously. NAFA just confirmed that you are correct and the bracket will be corrected. This is embarrassing for me and please accept my apology. Luke, could you provide a cell number for your manager, Bob Lanoie? Maybe I can make up for it by writing and posting the final tournament (player) statistics for Winnipeg - if your team kept stats throughout the tourney, and write brief summaries about the leading 3 or 4 players. Sorry for the mix up, but I will correct the story.

Winnipeg actually had a 6-1 record after Exit Realty forced the "if necessary" game after winning the second meeting between the two teams 8-6. NAFA has the bracket wrong on their website too.

Ran into Craig about a year ago on a dry and dusty backroad in the middle of nowhere. Strange coincidence.

What the hell does "Rivershark" mean anyway - other than it sounds pretty cool?

And, lastly, how the hell are you doing?

Nice to see a Canadian team win it. I attended several NAFA Tours. and the organizers always try to pair the Canadian teams off against each other in the prelims. because Canadian teams have superior pitching they try to knock us out early by facing each other.

Good show Bullets

I hope to get the list of All-Worlds and stats in all NAFA divisions, but we will see if they are available. I don't have them. I'll do my best.

Hey Bob,

I would like the list of the all-world players as well. And are you going to put a full game report like it says at the end of the article? It sounds like it was a great championship game and I'd like to hear more about it. Great photos, by the way.

Thanks!

Harmon hit the first big league home run I ever saw at the "original" Yankee Stadium in 1961. Seeing it hit the "Ballantine Beer" sign at the back of the left-center bleachers is etched in my brain; the ball traveled 500+ feet, easily. In that same game, Mickey Mantle hit a scorching line drive off the 461ft sign for a single. Those were the days I'll always remember. No talk about steroids or little league fields like they use today.
