NORTH MANKATO, Minn.Playnafa.org is providing the stats for the 2016 NAFA World Series being held at Caswell Park in North Mankato, Aug. 11-20.

For example, Hennager Plumbing and Heating of Lake Crystal is 3-0 and will play in the winner’s bracket final at 6 p.m. Saturday.

The leading ball players include Brent Meshke, batting .500 (5-for-10) with three RBI and two runs scored. Meshke hurled two of the Plumbers victories and hasn’t given up an earned run in 10 inning, with a 0.00 ERA, 14 strikeouts and two walks.

Rounding out the pitching staff are Michael Lewis with three innings, 0.00 ERA, five strikeouts and two walks; while Justin Davis has pitched five innings, allowed two hits and one earned run for a 1.40 ERA.

Plumbers also having a solid World Series with the bat are Jake Dalton, .583 average (7-for-12), six runs, and Michael Lewis, batting .333 (3-for-9) with three RBI and two doubles.

The Elanco Blackhawks of Pennsylvania opened with a 12-9 win over Striker’s Lanes, but then lost 9-6 to Tiffany’s of Michigan. But then Elanco regrouped and their bats heated up, leading the way on a five-game win streak and outscoring their opponents 37-7.

Just six teams remain in the running for the A-Major championship: Hennager, Northern Merchants, K-Club, Weezer’s Fastpitch, Bowen Fastpitch, and Elanco.

Todd Smoker and Dave Stokes have shared Elanco’s pitching duties, with Smoker (2-1) hurling 19 1/3 innings, striking out 25, while Stokes (3-0) has gone 17 1/3 innings with 14 strikeouts.

The offense has seven batters hitting over .300, with Caleb Groff leading the way at .522 (12-for-23), six RBI and two stolen bases. Also swinging the bat well are Jim Lawrence, Dean Malone, Tony Baker, A.J. Fisher, Sean King, Menno King, Benji Stoltifus and Anthony Smoker.
