MOLINE, IL – In a close fastpitch game, it often takes a break to pull out a win. And for Dolan & Murphy of Aurora, Illinois, they got the break they needed.

In the bottom of the sixth with the score tied, 1-1, Sisko Sabate led off the inning with a double, and later came around to score the winning run on an error and passed ball, as Dolan & Murphy held off the Walcott, Iowa, Merchants, 2-1, in the 70th Annual ISC World Tournament, Sunday, at Green Valley Sports Complex.

Leadoff batter Marek Maly (2-for-2) put Dolan & Murphy (1-1) on the board first with an RBI single in the second that plated Cooper Carson, who reached safely on a walk.

The Merchants (0-2) knotted the score in the sixth on Kevin Burns (1-for-3) single that scored Brody Gronewold, who opened the inning with a walk.

Dolan & Murphy’s Jarryo Farrell (1-0) pitch exceptional, allowing just two hits, one earned run with three walks and 10 strikeouts. But Walcott’s Fablo Silvestre (0-2) was also at the top of his game, firing a three-hitter, allowing one earned run, with five walks, while striking out five.
