STEVENS, Penn. – Matt Ratliff slugged a leadoff home run to open the game and two batters later Eric Ochoa belted a two-run blast that carried the USA Men’s National Softball Team to an 8-0 victory over PA Power in the opening game of the Rodney Fox Memorial tournament in Stevens, Saturday.

Ratliff and Ochoa continued feasting off Power pitching by each driving in a run in the fifth to end the game under the mercy rule.

Team USA collected 10 hits with Ratliff and Ochoa leading the team with two hits each in three trips to the plate.

Meanwhile, Team USA pitcher Duane Weiler held Power to one hit by leadoff batter Kyle Frehater, who tripled in the first inning. The left-hander from Bedford, Penn. faced 15 batters, striking out six and walking one in four innings of work.

Team USA has a busy day scheduled with games at 10:45, 5:45 and 7:30. The tournament concludes Sunday with a playoff and championship TBD.
