ROLLA, MO – County Materials of Marathon, Wisc went undefeated (3-0) to capture the Amateur Softball Association Boys’ 18-Under National Championship, Aug. 2-5, in Rolla, Missouri.

    1. County Materials 3-0
    2. Hennager Plumbing & Heating, Lake Crystal, MN 2-2
    3. Northwest Implement, Maryville, MO 2-2
    4. Richville, Reese, MI 2-2
    5. Seadogs (age 16-Under), Boston, MA 2-2

County Materials had long been a sponsor of Open division men’s fastpitch. In 2005 and ’06, County won back-to-back championships in the International Softball Congress World Tournament, along with several top-four finishes.

In 2010, the Sonnentag family of Tim, Billy and John, who sponsored County Materials, were inducted into the ISC Hall of Fame for their many contributions and devotion to men’s fastpitch since 1986.

In Rolla, the lower age boys’ tournaments consisting of 16-U, 14-U, 12-U, and 10-U were cancelled. No reason was given, but presumably lack of teams caused the cancellations.
