The world’s top age 19-under junior men’s fastpitch teams, including Team USA, will head to Argentina in November for the IX ISF Junior Men’s World Championship. Read about Team USA’s preparation and past ISF championships.

OKLAHOMA CITY – The USA Softball Junior Men’s Fast Pitch National Team posted a 3-2 record and a third-place finish in the 12-team Pete Schwab Memorial Tournament in Frankenmuth, Mich…

The tournament was the first stop on a week-long tour of Michigan with games scheduled against premier men’s teams in the Midwest.

“Overall we were quite pleased with the performance of our young men,” commented USA head coach Tim Lyon. “They faced good men’s competition and with the exception of one game, competed really well. We’re looking forward to the rest of the week and getting our guys more good quality games.”

The USA Softball Junior Men’s National Team will compete in the International Softball Federation IX ISF Junior Men’s World Championship in Paraná, Argentina, Nov. 1-10.

The 15 countries participating will be: Argentina, Australia, British Virgin Islands, Canada, Croatia, Czech Republic, Denmark, India, Japan, Mexico, New Zealand, Singapore, South Africa, United States and Venezuela.

The previous ISF Junior Men’s Championship in 2008 found the USA junior men finishing 8th with a 5-6 record. But of those six losses, three games were by one run (5-4 to Argentina), and two in extra innings; 4-3 to New Zealand in eight innings, and 1-0 to Canada also in eight.

Canada went on to finish in second place and New Zealand fourth. Australia claimed its fourth-consecutive Gold Medal with a 10-1 record, defeating Silver medalist Canada, 2-1, in the championship.
