Pioneer Days Tournament returns to Salt Lake City

SALT LAKE CITY, UTAH – Ken Hackmeister and Peter Meredith, both legends in men’s fastpitch softball, have teamed-up to revive the Pioneer Days Tournament, officially known this years as the Larry H. Miller Memorial 2013 Pioneer Days Men’s Fastpitch Tournament.

In his heyday, ISC Hall of Famer, Larry H. Miller, was a very respected fastpitch pitcher.

Dates: July 12-13-14, 2013
Entry Fee: $450 per team (tentative)
Location: Larry H. Miller Softball Complex, 4400 S. 13th E., Salt Lake City, Utah. Softball Complex named after Larry H. Miller

Format: Round robin into playoff round
Guarantees: Each team is guaranteed 5-games and each team must play a Friday night game. Championship game: Sunday afternoon.

Financial Incentives: For each non-Utah based team, we will guarantee either a Utah entrant in your local tournament in 2013 or a payment of $800 per team to offset your travel expenses. You choose preference but final decision is ours.
Motel Recommendations: Will be provided upon paid and accepted entry.

ISC Qualifier status: ISC Qualifier for 2014 ISC World Tournament.

Tournament Rules: 2013 ASA playing rules with 2013 ISC pitching rule.
Tournament ball: Worth C120WISC (official ISC ball)

Planned media exposure: Internet results after each round plus Twitter, Facebook and You Tube. Local SLC newspapers and TV stations.

Statistician: A statistician will compile individual and team stats throughout the tournament.

Commitment deadline: We ask teams to contact us via email by March 1 about their potential interest in entering the tournament.
