MONTGOMERY, IL – The fastpitch softball family lost one of its most devoted fans when Janet “Jan” Drew, 62, wife of NAFA Hall of Fame member, Mike Drew, passed away on Friday, August 9.

Robin Reder, manager of the Dolan and Murphy men’s fastpitch team said that Jan often accompanied Mike to many of the team’s ball games and tournaments in his 20 plus years playing for the Aurora, Illinois ball club.

“Jan was an important member of our team for a long time and a big supporter and fan,” he said. “She attended most games with Mike; it was like a family affair. We will miss her greatly.”

NAFA Executive Director, Benjie Hedgecock, said that he will remember Jan as being one of the most positive people he and the NAFA family have ever known, and a person whose “smile could light up the ballpark,” he said.

“On behalf of the entire NAFA family, we offer our condolences to Mike Drew and the Drew Family,” Hedgecock added. “Jan was a member of our fastpitch family, and our hearts go out to them for their loss.”

Jan is survived by husband, Michael David Drew; daughters, Kristen Stalcup, Kelly Drew and Kari Robinson; sons-in-law, Scott Stalcup and Grant Robinson; grandchildren, Mason and Kora Stalcup and sisters, Joyce Easter McCullough and Barbara Easter Schneid. Jan’s greatest joy was being a wife, mother, sister, daughter, and grandmother.
