    The Vancouver, BC, Athletics won the SCIFL Alliance Men's Fast-pitch Tournament at Little Lake Park in Santa Fe Springs, Calif., June 25-26.     SANTA FE SPRINGS, Calif. – The elite teams of men’s fastpitch seldom venture into Southern California, so when the nine teams of the Southern California Independent Fastpitch League (SCIFL) learned that the Vancouver, BC, Athletics were coming to Little Lake Park for an Alliance tournament, well, that created quite a stir.

    “It’s always a good challenge and fun to play a top-level team,” said Paul Castillo, manager of Those Guys of Long Beach. “It gives my guys some experience playing a team like that and how they (compare).”
