Morongo tops Soboba in Beaumont Fourth of July Men’s Fastpitch Tourney

BEAUMONT, CA – The action heated up Friday night in the opening game of the 35th Annual Beaumont Coyotes Fourth of July Tournament with the Morongo Hostiles defeating the Soboba Beernuts 8-0 behind the shutout pitching of Anthony Loza, along with a two-run home run in the first inning by Lou Martin that proved the deciding runs in the Hostiles victory. The eight-team tournament continues through Sunday with the championship game scheduled for 12:30.

In today’s play, the Morongo Men’s Club meets the San Bernardino Aztecs at 8 a.m., while the host Beaumont Coyotes tangle with the Corona Rebels at 9:30 a.m. Games are scheduled throughout the day with the final game set for 6:30 p.m.

Sunday’s playoff round starts at 8 a.m., leading up to the championship game.

Beaumont Coyotes Fourth of July tournament promises to be competitive

BEAUMONT, CA – David Valdivia says it gets harder each year finding enough teams, but as long as he can find eight or more, the Beaumont Coyotes Men’s Fastpitch Tournament will stay right on schedule – over the Fourth of July weekend – just as it has for the past 34 years.

The 66-year-old Valdivia – known respectfully and affectionately as “Señor Coyote” – has held the Coyotes Fourth of July Tournament since 1977 without missing a beat. And beginning Friday night at 6:30 the 35th edition of the popular southern California tournament will roll out at Rangel Park in Beaumont.

BEAUMONT, CAPopular softball tournament comes to Beaumont over the Fourth of July

Softball fans come to see pitchers hurling fastballs across home plate at 60 mph and sluggers swinging for centerfield fences 230 feet away. At this weekend’s (34th) annual Beaumont Coyotes Fast Pitch Softball Tournament, thousands of fans will also enjoy freshly prepared, homemade Mexican food.

The popular tournament, which draws thousands of fans from across Southern California and beyond, begins Friday night, July 2nd, at Rangel Park’s Valdivia Field and ends Sunday night on the Fourth of July, with a championship game. Ten softball teams are traveling to Beaumont from across the Inland Empire and as far away as San Diego and Long Beach…Continue Reading
