Saginaw, MI – The International Softball Congress is pleased to announce that it will be sponsoring three boys fastpitch softball championship tournaments on the weekend of July 21-23 in Saginaw, Michigan.

The ISC Developmental Championship Tournaments in the U14, U16 and U18 age groups marks a return for the ISC in sponsoring stand-alone youth events separate from the annual ISC World Tournament.

“With the outstanding boy’s fastpitch programs in Munger and Vasser, as well as the history of successful ISC developmental tournaments in Frankenmuth, this is the ideal area to hold these tournaments,” says ISC Executive Director Larry Fisher.

Saginaw is 10-15 minutes from Frankenmuth and was the host of the 1981 ISC World Tournament.

“We’ve selected this weekend because there’s minimal conflict with any of the Ontario provincial events in these age groups, so we’d really like to see Ontario teams come and compete for an ISC championship,” added Fisher.

More information will be forthcoming as the committee of Tom Stasik, Del Benson, Don Petro and Pete Bouvy work out the details in the coming weeks.

The ISC is also planning a U21 Championship as part of the 2017 ISC World Tournament being held in Grand Rapids, MI., August 12-19.

2016-NAFA Boys WS.1lr

VASSAR, Mich. – Plenty of opportunity for teams and players to enter the 2016 NAFA Boys Youth World Series in Vassar, Mich., July 30-31.

“Consider bringing a team, a car load of free agent players or maybe find a different way to support this event. We are working hard at presenting enough teams for a meaningful boys’ tournament in each of the age divisions, 10-Under,12-U,14-U,16-U and 19-U.” – Don Petro / Tournament Promoter

  • Teams will be found for single players and a few friends that want to experience the tournament together.

Midland gearing up for ASA boys’ national championships and ISF World Championship

    Wednesday, June 3rd, 2015

MIDLAND, Mich. – Midland has long played host to championship tournaments in men and boys’ fastpitch softball. As recently as 2010 and 2012, Midland hosted the International Softball Congress (ISC) World Tournament.

And once again – led by the Midland Explorers Booster Club – the city will roll out the welcome mat, July 30 to Aug. 2, when three Amateur Softball Association (ASA) national championships will be held at Emerson Park for the boys, the young men’s age 23-under, and the Masters 40-older divisions.

“All the divisions promise to be very competitive,” said David Lach of the booster club, who also serves as the tournament director in a press release. “We wanted to provide ‘fastpitch dads’ an opportunity to spend a long weekend playing adjacent to their sons in a national championship.”

Boys and Young Men’s Fastpitch…ASA Nationals at Midland, Michigan

    Saturday, April 11th, 2015

Reese, Mich. – We are gearing up for a successful season of boys’ fastpitch softball. ASA Boys’ National Tournament Director Jim Volk will undoubtedly be getting more information in the very near future regarding entry fee and registration costs along with available hotel options.

In the meantime, please forward the following information to any interested fastpitch contacts.

The ASA Boy’s National Tournament will be held in Midland, Mich. on the July 30-Aug.1 weekend. While the 23-under and 18-under teams are expected to form rather easily, I am focused on two major goals for the 12, 14, and 16-under age groups.

First, is that we will do everything we can to provide a tournament experience for those younger age groups by forming three teams locally in each of those divisions.

Secondly, is that we will provide an opportunity for any interested boys to participate in the nationals in his prospective age group.

It is my hope that some teams will travel to Michigan knowing that 12, 14, and 16-under teams will have someone to play in their age group. Absent an entire team coming, we are dedicated to finding spots for players making the trip and placing them on a local team if they don’t have one of their own. Knowing this information as far in advance as possible is obviously very helpful.

Please forward this message far and wide to reach every fastpitch supporter, so that we might make the younger age brackets a tournament to remember for the boys.

Anyone interested in more information for the younger divisions, please contact Don Petro at 989-297-1704, or on Facebook, and at so that we can build momentum in creating a great tourney experience.

I hope to provide regular updates as more people communicate their interest.
