Explosive Fargo Bombers Take Hollywood Sports Complex Men’s Fastpitch Tournament

WATERTOWN, Minn. – The Fargo Bombers went 6-0 to claim the Hollywood Sports Complex Men’s Fastpitch Tournament. The Bombers defeated Minnesota Computers, Rice Lake Orangemen and Lens Auto in pool play Saturday. Then on Sunday in the single elimination playoffs, Fargo beat Dawson, Rice Lake and Odin to claim the championship.

    Hometown teams battle for Fargo Memorial Men’s Fastpitch Tournament

    FARGO, ND – They traveled afar from Minnesota, South Dakota, Colorado and Canada, but it was two local teams from Fargo – the Kegel Black Knights and the Fargo Bombers – that met on the ball diamond at Northside Softball Complex on Sunday afternoon to decide the championship of the 12 team Fargo Memorial Tournament.

    And the Kegel Black Knights (ranked No. 18 by the International Softball Congress) left little dought that they are a team to be reckoned with as they beat the Bombers, 10-3, led by the pitching of Kory Boehmer, who finished the weekend with a 5-0 record and was selected the Most Valuable Pitcher. Michael Lewis picked up the 7-5 victory over the La Portage Phillies in the opening game, Saturday, in pool play to help cap a perfect tournament for Kegel.

    Saturday’s round-robin action placed the teams into a seeding for Sunday’s single-elimination playoffs. The Fargo Bombers (5-1) entered the playoffs as the No. 1 seed, with Kegel slotted No. 2.

    The Fargo Memorial Tournament will offer competitive pitching, hitting and defensive prowess for NAFA A-Major teams and below at Fargo’s Northside Softball Complex May 28-29.

    FARGO, ND – When Tournament Director Justin Feist started making plans for the Fargo Memorial Tournament, he decided that the entry fee would be reasonable. Some would most likely say, “wow, what a deal.”
