Fontana Steelers have good season despite losing home pool advantage

YUCAIPA, CA – The Fontana Steelers boy’s water polo team knows each of its Citrus Belt League rivals’ pools quite well. They’ve been forced to. Because this season the Steelers have gone without the cozy comfort of their own Fontana High School pool.

Yet, the Steelers have done quite respectable as a road team in carving out an 11-11 overall record, while going 2-6 in the CBL.

“We’ve needed more time in the pool, but ours has been down since May because of leaking water,” said Steelers Head Coach, Kristen Flores in her second year coaching the boy’s team. “But we’ve done quite well despite the lack of pool time we needed.”

YUCAIPA, CA – Playing their final Citrus Belt League game of the season, the Yucaipa Thunderbirds defeated the visiting Fontana Steelers in a close, high contested match, 12-8.
