CATHEDRAL CITY, Calif. – The No. 9 University of Oregon softball team (13-3) raised its win streak to six games with its 3-1 win in Sunday’s Mary Nutter Collegiate Classic finale over San Diego State (8-7).

In her second complete game of the season, senior Jessica Moore (7-2) struck out 10, walked two, and gave up three hits.

Texas between Ducks and NCAA College Softball World Series

The Longhorns win four elimination games to host Super Regional

EUGENE – The Oregon softball team’s postseason run moves to the heat of Texas and a three-game super regional series against the equally hot Longhorns.

Sixth-seeded Texas ended any hopes of the 11th-seeded Ducks hosting another round of the NCAA tournament when it won four straight elimination games Saturday and Sunday to advance out of its regional.

Had the Longhorns lost just one of those games, the Ducks would be staying home to face an unseeded opponent. Instead, they’ll play in Austin, Texas, this week — days and times will be announced today — with the winner advancing to the Women’s College World Series.

“We weren’t ready to leave Howe Field yet,” said UO coach Mike White, whose team went 3-0 in its regional series at home over the weekend to make its third-straight super regionals.
