FARGO – Justin Feist was asked to play on a fall fastpitch softball team nine years ago not knowing what to expect. Feist had played baseball in high school, but didn’t know much about fastpitch.

He got hooked.

“I really enjoyed it,” said the 28-year-old Feist, now the president of the Fargo Moorhead Fastpitch Association. “I’ve played ever since.”

FARGO, ND – They traveled afar from Minnesota, South Dakota, Colorado and Canada, but it was two local teams from Fargo – the Kegel Black Knights and the Fargo Bombers – that met on the ball diamond at Northside Softball Complex on Sunday afternoon to decide the championship of the 12 team Fargo Memorial Tournament.

Michael Lewis picked up the 7-5 victory over the La Portage Phillies in the opening game, Saturday, in pool play to help cap a perfect tournament for Kegel.
