FINDLAY, OHIO – The International Softball Congress is pleased to announce that South Bend, Indiana will be the host site for the 2015 ISC World Tournament.
South Bend was awarded the 69th ISC World Tournament following the conclusion of negotiations between the ISC and city officials.
“We’re very excited about bringing the ISC to South Bend,” said ISC Executive Director Larry Fisher. “This is a great sports town with a rich history and we are delighted to be playing the ISC World Tournament here.”
“South Bend is quickly becoming a key destination for premier softball sporting events,” said South Bend Mayor Pete Buttigieg. “We’re honored the ISC chose to host their 2015 World Tournament here, and look forward to highlighting why we’re a top-notch location.”
This will mark the first time that South Bend will host the ISC World Tournament, with several previous national and international events having been played at the Belleville Sports Complex, which features five diamonds, a full concession stand, bleachers, restrooms, and an operations building.
“We are thrilled to be the host site for the 2015 International Softball Congress World Fastball Championship Tournament,” said Parks and Rec Executive Director Phil St. Clair. “The City of South Bend has had the opportunity to successfully host numerous national softball tournaments and we eagerly look forward to welcoming teams from around the world to our community.
“The ISC brings out the very best in competition,” St. Clair continued, “and sports fans will truly get the opportunity to see the best softball players in the world play for the title of the ISC World Champion. We’re excited and can’t wait for the summer of 2015.”
“Anytime we get the opportunity to add an international tournament and championship to our sports event resume it says a lot about our destination. We are grateful to partner with South Bend Parks to host this great ISC event,” said Rob DeCleene, Executive Director, South Bend/Mishawaka Convention and Visitors Bureau.
In addition to the ISC World Tournament, teams will also compete in the ISC II bracket as well as the 50+ Legends and U21 Youth divisions.
