FARGO, N.D – The Elanco Blackhawks of Pennsylvania flew undefeated through the NAFA World Series A-Major Division to claim the championship over the Fleetwood Marlins of British Columbia, Canada, Sunday at North Softball Complex in Fargo.

LAS VEGAS – The Beaumont Coyotes had dug themselves a hole, a huge hole.

Now, could they dig themselves out of it?

Of top priority, the man in the circle had to stop the hemorrhaging. That’s exactly what Jesse Martinez did.

Trailing 5-0 in the fifth inning in the A-Division championship game of the Las Vegas Road Trip X tournament, Martinez told his teammates he wouldn’t give up any more runs.

Now all they had to do was show some offensive punch. And like lighting a fuse, the Coyotes bats caught fire in the fifth and sixth innings.

MANKATO, Minn. – As mayor of Mankato, Eric Anderson is happy to have the North American Fastpitch Association World Series back in the area.

As a softball player, however, he’s thrilled.

“The thing I personally like is it gives people a chance to come up here and see the game played,” Anderson said before taking the field for the Pub 500 team’s second game of the tournament Friday afternoon. “There’s an added benefit that a lot of people have come here and are staying in the area, but as the (men’s) game shows signs of dying out, people can come out and see some good fastpitch softball.”
