LAS VEGAS – The Beaumont Coyotes had dug themselves a hole, a huge hole.

Now, could they dig themselves out of it?

Of top priority, the man in the circle had to stop the hemorrhaging. That’s exactly what Jesse Martinez did.

Trailing 5-0 in the fifth inning in the A-Division championship game of the Las Vegas Road Trip X tournament, Martinez told his teammates he wouldn’t give up any more runs.

Now all they had to do was show some offensive punch. And like lighting a fuse, the Coyotes bats caught fire in the fifth and sixth innings.

Thirty seven teams from across the United States and from Canada, Mexico, Valenzuela, and Argentina competed for divisional championships in Las Vegas with two California and one Utah team taking the three titles against tough competition.

LAS VEGAS – The dust has all settled, the last out has been called, champions have been crowned and the 2014 edition of the Las Vegas Road Trip is in the books. Hopefully everyone had some fun in Sin City and left with a little extra cash in your pocket on the trip back home.

This year’s tournament had almost perfect weather; no rain forecasted but high clouds to bring the heat down in the afternoon. The wind did kick in hard on Sunday morning, making fly balls interesting to say the least.

Thirty-seven teams were entered into the tournament; however, one dropped out late Friday evening as only four players arrived to play-unfortunately making it too late to adjust the schedule.

The competition in all three levels was fantastic…To read game reports of the three division championships visit the SCIFL website and read Las Vegas Road Trip VII
