QUAD CITIES, IA/IL – The Roseville, Calif. Eagles have the kind of lineup that can give many a pitcher a severe case of the jitters. They’ve got the speedsters up front slapping and poking their way on base, and the big bashers lining up to drive them in.

Stoneyard of Madison, Wisc. can attest to that.

In the bottom of the first inning, Aaron Glaum – possibly the fastest man in the World Series – hit a line shot into the left-centerfield gap, and before the ball could be flagged down he was rounding third and heading for home for an inside the park home run.

That huge hit was the spark that ignited the Eagles’ offense and led to a 7-0 victory to claim the NAFA World Series A-Major Division Championship, Sunday, at Green Valley Sports Complex in Moline, Ill.

“It’s a great combination to have speed up front in Jabari (Wimbs) and Aaron, and power hitters that go three, four, five, six and seven and then we roll the lineup to speed again,” said Eagles’ player and manager Mario Pereira, who bats third. “Aaron set the tone for us today.”
