OSTRANDER, Minn.- While hundreds of men’s fastpitch teams have disappeared, little Ostrander, Minnesota (pop. 256) keeps churning out a ball club year-after-year, at least 51 years.

Newspaper records show Ostrander played in the 1965 ASA Class A State Tournament.

  • And on April 7-9, Ostrander will be playing in the 10th Annual 2017 Las Vegas Road Trip.
  • How many teams are still playing today besides Ostrander from this Minneapolis Star clipping of state tournament scores dated Sunday, Sept. 4, 1966? You tell me.

    Ostrander Fastpitch Starts Strong in ISC II Tournament

    MOLINE, IL – Ostrander Fastpitch of Minnesota dropped its first two games in the ISC World Tournament, but once they got into the ISC II tournament, they’ve found their game with two consecutive victories to put themselves in contention for the the championship.

      Ostrander 8, Walcott 1

    Lewis Weldon was prolific at the plate with a double and home run to account for 4 RBI, and Brandon Meiners slugged a home run to power a 10-hit attack.

    Michael Jamieson went five innings to pick up the run-ruled win. He allowed one earned run on three hits, four walks, and struck out 11.

      Ostrander 7, Ray Ray’s Bar 4

    After trailing 4-2 through six innings, Ostrander erupted for five runs in the seventh to rally for the win. With Two out, Jace Holm blasted a three-run home run and Patrick Brackley hit a two-run homer to overpower Ray Rays.

    Eduardo Escobedo gave up four runs on four hits with 12 strikeouts to get the win. In the sixth, Carlos Jose Santodomingo launched an Escobedo pitch over the fence for a three-run home run to give Ray Rays a shortlived 4-2 lead.
