The broadcasts start Friday, July 11 and continue through July 20.

ISF Junior Men’s Softball (fast-pitch) World Championship

The International Softball Federation (ISF) Junior Men’s World Championship (age 19-under) has been held nine times, with the tenth taking place in Whitehorse, Yukon, Canada, July 11-20.

Australia heads the list of gold medalists with four consecutive championships (2008, 2005, 2001, 1997), compiling a 44-3 record. In 2012, Australia slipped to third, but still had an 8-2 record.

  • Before 1997, the Aussies never medaled; what an incredible turnaround the program took in beginning its championship run.
  • Canada and Japan co-lead the medal count with seven each, while Australia has five, and New Zealand four.
  • The United States ranks sixth in medal count with two, both silvers in 1985 and 1981.

    Schedule Released for 2014 Junior Men’s International Softball Federation Championship

    WHITEHORSE, YUKON, CA – The schedule is set for the 2014 10th ISF Junior Men’s World Softball Championship.

    The 2014 championship will be held July 11 to 20 at the Pepsi Softball Centre in Whitehorse and International Softball executives announced the official game schedule Thursday.

    Ten teams from five continents will unite for 45 games in a round-robin format, followed by four playoff (page playoff system) games.

    Team USA opens on July 11 against Denmark and then takes on New Zealand the following day.

    In the 2012 World Championship, USA finished fifth overall with a 5-3 record. Argentina secured its first championship by beating Japan 5-0, thus unseating four-time defending champion, Australia.
